The Combustion Laboratory

Location: Room 532E (1030 SF)
Faculty supervisor: Prof. Sidebotham, Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering
Equipment Available:

  • Mass flow meters
  • rotometers
  • pressure regulators
  • data acquisition board
  • surgical C02 (for ignition tests)
  • microscope
  • video camera
  • 2 editing vcr decks and controller
  • ventilator

    Objective of lab
The main purpose of the laboratory is to provide a working space that supports fundamental and applied experimentation in combustion problems. Three work stations (with fume hoods) are available that can be altered to support a variety of atmospheric pressure demonstration of fundamental combustion phenomena, both premised and diffusion flame.

The laboratory is equipped to support undergraduate and graduate research projects, as well as for demonstrations.
